F.A.Q.

Q. Why barefoot?
A. Barefoot exercise allows for more foot and leg muscles to be used and greater opportunities to fine-tune balance.

Q. Do I have to be barefoot?
A. No. You can wear soft-soled shoes that allow the foot to bend. Some people need extra support or cushioning, but Nia is non-impact and is safe to do barefoot. Studios, and the other students, will appreciate it if you bring clean shoes just for class so the floor stays clean.

Q.Do retired people need special classes that are different?
A. One of the wonderful things about Nia is that people with different fitness levels or ages can all attend the same class. Some classes are held in settings that are especially convenient for retired people.
